How to use them
A few habits that keep the burn even, the scent true, and the room safe.
Candles
- First burn: let the melt pool reach the edge of the vessel (usually 2 to 4 hours). That stops tunneling.
- Trim the cotton wick to about 1/4 inch before each light.
- Burn on a stable, heat-safe surface. Never leave a flame unattended or within reach of kids or pets.
- Stop when about 1/2 inch of wax remains.
- Typical burn time for a full-size vessel is around 50 to 60 hours, depending on care.
Incense cones
- Light the tip, let it catch, then blow out the flame so it smolders.
- Set the cone on a heat-safe dish. Ash will fall.
- Use in a ventilated room. Never leave burning incense unattended.
Car diffusers
- Hang from the rearview mirror. Keep the bottle upright.
- A little oil goes a long way in a closed cabin. If it feels strong, crack a window.
- Do not drink. Wipe spills. Keep off skin if you are fragrance-sensitive.
